Grace of God

Defining Grace

What is Grace? There have been a lot of definitions given on this subject but what is it really ? Well, we can only get the best answer by looking at scriptures. Christ came, FULL OF GRACE and truth! So, what does it mean to be “full of Grace”. Before saying anything about this, let us look at some scriptures…

Insights into the Grace of God

2 Peter 3

14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but GROW IN THE GRACE and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

  • Grace is a resource whose source is God Himself packaged in His Son (Nehema ni raslimali na akiba yake ni Mungu mwenyewe ndani ya Kristo)
  • John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
  • Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father beglory forever and ever. Amen.
  • Philippians sent gifts to Paul through Epaphroditus and Paul had this prayer to them – God’s riches are summed up in the resource locked up in Christ – GRACE
  • Grace unlocks our potential
  • God’s GRACE is always sufficient for our needs. It is all we need

2 Corinthians 12

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to [b]buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

  • God’s Grace teaches us to say no to all ungodliness

Titus 2

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

15 Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

We all need God’s Grace!

We are what we are by the Grace of God
