Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well. Today, I am excited to share with you something that has helped me a lot – building according to God’s pattern. God has demonstrated how we ought to build everything in our lives. Every ministry we do, the work we do in our daily lives, relating to others and so on, should be all be done for Him and in accordance to what we saw Jesus (THE PATTERN) do.
1 Corinthians 3:….. 10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ….(NIV)
From this portion of scripture, we see that:-
- The foundation has already been set and has produced a pattern that we cannot amend. Changing the pattern would require building another foundation for the extra pattern
- The foundation of the extra pattern will not be Christ’s hence will interfere with God’s plan in your life
Challenges in building according to this pattern
Romans 12:…Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will…(NIV)
- The pattern of this world – conforming to this pattern deviating us to the original plan of God. It shouldn’t. Wait on God and don’t try to copy the world. Don’t even copy your friends. God has a unique plan for each of us. He showed us how to align ourselves with His Will and Purpose through His Son, Jesus Christ!
Colossians 1:… 15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (NIV)
God wants us to embrace the character of His Son and build our lives upon what we see Him do through the scriptures. We were built in the Image of God (He is that image spoken about in Genesis 1:26)
Genesis 1:…26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (NIV)
Hebrews 1:1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. (NIV)
God is speaking to us through His Son. If we all want to accomplish anything in life, we need to learn from Christ – there is nothing he does except what He sees the Father do. To build the right way, we need to learn from the word of God through His Son!
